Hey my hairstylist followers!
I thought I would do a post especially for you breaking down all the madness that went down to create a whole new look for Tiffany Keller (featured on my Instagram).
For starters, she came in with a gap in her hair that was wide and I literally couldn’t believe my eyes. She had someone install NBR extensions with a gap between the wefts leaving out the back nap area up to the crown. This gap obviously made the sides long but when the hair was all falling down her back, it was quite the disaster. Needless to say I had to SAVE her from this nightmare, and so the transformation began.
I went with Tiffany to purchase hair from The Hair Shop in Hollywood. I like to color match my clients in the store so they can have input on the color and length selection. My clients also love being apart of the process and I can write down the bundles I chose to install in my client book and repurchase without her having to go if she wants to continue the same look.
Heading into the salon, we decided all she needed was a face frame and a gloss to match the extensions. My color line of choice is Redken, so I started with Flashlift and 30 volume with, of course, 1/16 of Olaplex #2. I then rooted her with Shades EQ/s new NA series 4N/ 5na. The new NA line is perfect for rooting my ladies who love ash or canceling warmth. I glossed all over with 9t/9v/9b and clear.
After she was dried up, I installed 8 bundles of The Hair Shop’s Keratip extensions in colors #18, #60 and #t8/184/60. I cut the bonds in half or in thirds and combined them to have the contrasting colors blend without looking stipey.
Jake Martin did some weight removal on the ends of hair through the layering with deep point cutting using Inochi 7.0″ PS 26 Dry Cutting Shear, so it could blend better since she had lots of thick short hair. His blending of extensions is impeccable follow him on IG for tips and pointers. Styling products used to complete this look Unite Hair Care. Blow dried 1 pump of U OIL into hair for smoothing some of the frizz down. Then waved her hair with a 1″ Hot Tools Marcel Curling Iron in small sections rotating each piece in a different direction for more of a tousled look. Then used a wide tooth comb to break up the curls and finished with Unite Hair Texturiza Spray to give that cool, sexy, effortless style.
