Have you tried the new Olaplex shampoo and conditioner yet? Maybe you have, and this will be a bit of a refresh for you, or maybe you’ve never heard of it and you’re asking yourself what is Olaplex? If this is you and you’re unfamiliar with all the loveliness that is Olaplex, this product is going to step up your hair game 10 fold.
So, what is Olaplex exactly?
“Olaplex is a bond multiplier containing a single active ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. Olaplex works by finding single sulfur hydrogen bonds and cross linking them back together to form disulfide bonds before, during and after services. Disulfide bonds are broken via chemical, thermal, and mechanical processes.” (Olaplex.com)
I won’t overwhelm you with a biology lesson, but essentially Olaplex finds broken bonds in the hair that have been broken due to well, life, and rebuilds them. This stuff is super high-tech and it is much more than your average treatment or mask.
I am sure you have probably heard of the N0. 3 TAKE HOME TREATMENT, but a few months ago they released the No. 4 SHAMPOO and No. 5 CONDITIONER, so now you can prevent and strengthen your hair at home. And who doesn’t want healthier hair that’s a simple as a quick wash and go? The shampoo has no sulfates or parabens and is moisturizing which I recommend my clients to use once or twice a week if you have hair that is a bleach and tone or a permanent base since the hair toward your scalp may need a little extra love. The conditioner is ultra hydrating so I recommend just keeping it on the ends of your hair.
Olaplex #3 is NOT a conditioner. A conditioner or mask or treatment helps replenish moisture whereas Olaplex helps rebuild the structure of your hair – Olaplex conditioner does both! That is why this product is a game changer. You can still invest in a good mask, especially if your hair is dry and over-processed, but this step eliminates needing to have both products, and who wants 50 million things in your shower caddy?
Now that I’ve got you hooked, where can you get this miracle system?
We sell Olaplex at Bomane Salon, so you can stock up at your next appointment with me, or if you’re not yet a client of mine, you can buy it at Sephora or check www.Olaplex.com for your nearest retail store. I would refrain from purchasing it on Amazon, since you never know if its the real thing.
On a side note, I will be doing an Olaplex IG Takeover this Friday and I will show you how I use the total system on my clients for the day in the salon. Til then here is a quick teaser for you to drool over. I hope you love the new Olaplex #3 & #4 as much as I do!
